Belting Range Chapter 1 - Rubber Belts

Uni-Drive Systems have a wide range of belting that ranges from rubber to thermoplastic. In each chapter, it will introduce 4 different type of belts to let users have a better understanding of each type of belt's characteristic & application.

In this chapter, we will introduce the following 4 type of belts
- Classical V Belt
- Cogged Classical Belt
- Wedge Belt
- Cogged Wedge Belt

Classical V Belt

Introduction

Classical V-Belts are endless belts used in a wide range of applications. These belts have technically good design and are economical for most ordinary drives. They are anti-static, oil and heat resistant. Classical V-belts are built with high strength, specially treated polyester cord that gives the capacity to carry more horsepower. Ultra high strength polyester cords assure fatigue resistance and length stability. Each cord is chemically treated to bond to the insulation and compression sections, welding all components together for long service life & also give superior resistance to shock load.

Applications
  • Compressors
  • Crushers
  • Motors
  • Agricultural Machineries

Cogged Classical Belt

Introduction

Cogged Classical Belts are anti-static and highly oil resistant while having the ability to handle a wide temperature range. These belts carry a high quality Polyester cord core with Chloroprene used in insulation rubber. Cogged Classical Belts provide a superior combination of flexibility and load carrying capacity, as well as less stretch resulting in less maintenance. Flexible Cords are strongly bonded to the body of the belt resulting in equal load distribution and the absorption of bending stress without cord deterioration. Belt Edge is machined for even sheave groove contact resulting in less slip and wear.

Applications
  • Vertical Shaft Drives
  • V-flat Drives
  • Agricultural Drives
  • Conveyor Systems
  • Crusher, Compressors, Generators Sets, Pumps, Etc

Wedge Belt

Introduction

Wedge Belts are made of specially compounded synthetic rubber to give superior oil, heat resistant and static conducting properties, thus providing advantageous and safer drives in hazardous atmospheres. Wedge belts can transmit up to 3 times the horsepower compared to classical V-Belts. This results in being able to use a narrower sheave width with increased performance. Vertical curves provide proper cord support and adequate contact with the sheave-groove for uniform loading bearing, uniform abrasion resistance, and increased belt service life. Flex-Bonded Cords are strongly enforced into the body of the belt resulting in equal load distribution and absorption of bending stress without cord deterioration.

Applications
  • Universally used in industrial and agricultural machinery such as large sized pumps, crushers, etc.

Cogged Wedge Belt

Introduction

Cogged Wedge Belts are anti-static and highly oil resistant while having the ability to handle a wide temperature range. Flexible Cords are strongly bonded to the body of the belt resulting in equal load distribution and the absorption of bending stress without cord deterioration. High modulus and low stretchy tensile cords engineered to support higher loads without stretching while ensuring high power rating.

Applications
  • Emphasizing in heavy-duty industrial drives with high belt speeds. Allow immediate improvement of existing drives which use wrapped belts, providing overall benefits with regards to economy as well as power transmission and reliability of operation.
